Development of The Health Management System using IC card considering convenience and safety at authentication

Hiroyuki OKAZAKI, Naoyuki MASADA, Hiroki MATSUMOTO

In Japan, the rapid aging of the population has been progress, the ratio of aged population to total population is increasing every year. Under such situation, we have already established and tested a health management system for aged people consisting of tablet terminals and a server, which have applications to collect vital sign information such as weight and blood pressure. But the test also revealed a difficulty in authentication operation for aged people by inputting IDs and passwords by themselves.

In this research, we reconstructed our health management server to simplify the authentication operation for aged people as well as to improve the overall accessibility by changing the authentication method from IDs and passwords to IC cards.

As a result, our new health management system demonstrated its further necessity and effectiveness as a service for aged people to healthily live their advanced ages in the progressively aging society.
