Development of the 3-Dimensional Form Measurement Device Using Moire Topography and its Anthropometric Application

People's interest about health and welfare machinery has deepened recently. Therefore, automatic quantitative measurement and data processing of the human body shape is now in demand in medicine and in other various fields.

This study concerns the method of non-contact measurement for the human body shape by a Moire topography. In this study, applying a phase shift method enabled to detect continuous position information of the arbitrary surface was used.

Actually, we applied this method to measure three-dimensional form of posterior superior iliac spine (PSIS) and it was proven to be able to apply to the evaluation of the pre-post chiropractic operation.
